Final Website Design

My website's url is https://moonlitcryogenics.wixsite.com/thespiderwriter/. These are some of the facets of the site I whipped up using Wix's library and photoshop:

I have a well-established (if not at all recognized) presence on the internet under the handles TheSpiderWriter and iSpiderWriter, so I centered on the iconography of spiders, spiderwebs, and writing supplies for my logo and backdrop. 

I love colors I also have research credits on a youtube series called Space Stuff, and I've always loved space, aliens, and pursuit of the stars, so I used colorful planet representations for the navigation buttons. As for the portfolio, I decided to set this website up as a potential hub for all my visual art projects, and uploaded a few handfuls of examples for three categories--Illustrations (art with context), Drawings (art without contest), and Photomanipulation.

For my purposes, I don't see the point of having a home page if I have a contact, about, and portfolio page. Considering if I want to blog I have three pre-established options at my fingertips here on Blogspot, and I'm not selling anything or presenting something new, strange, or exciting. So I used a visitor counter and a search bar to help navigate what there is of the site. 

Module 6 Sketches: Potential Website

 Here are my sketches for the website. I'll probably draw some of it and take images from wix for the spider web and spiders. I have trouble with this conceptual part, because if I were working on this alone I'd just dive into the website tinkering until I hit something too big to tackle and have to take a step back. Ultimately I'm a sketcher for drawings and such, but not usually for digital manipulation, it feels unnatural to me and not worth the energy when brainstorming a list of possible topics would take way, waaaaaaaay less time, and I wouldn't waste time dreaming up sketches for which I can't find a single way to copy the look of the sketch using pre-existing images--like with my hornet project, look as I might, I couldn't find a living queen or the size comparison I was hoping for in anything but poor-quality images.
