Book Cover: Nemesis, by Isaac Asimov

 

My book cover is of Isaac Asimov's Nemesis. I started with making the template as shown in the youtube tutorial, then by montaging the images at the top of the back cover and the middle of the front cover into being, and once I had those to my liking I found a starry backdrop I liked, altered it a bit, and pasted it in twice so that the yellow at the bottom of one meets the yellow at the top of the other to make it seem like an unbroken image. Then I tracked down the barcode for the back and Doubleday logo for the back and the spine (it was extremely difficult to find a barcode and 1990's Foundation-Doubleday logo that I could cut out, paste, and size up without completely destroying the image), and after getting those just so, found the modern asking price for the book--$7.99 US, $8.99 CAD--and placed that between the bar code and logo on the back cover. Then it was just down to editing the back blurb to fit the page, and playing with the typography to get a nice bevel thing going with the futuristic font--"ethnocentric" font, it goes very well with the novel both visually and thematically.
